1. Alex loves to be naked.
Alex’s favorite part of the day is the time before, during and after bath time – when he is naked. If he’s been fussy during the day, it all melts away as we take his clothes off. He starts giggling and screeching as if it’s the best thing in the world. He loves it so much, and loves it even more when we give him belly kisses and snuggle him.
2. Alex is sometimes insane.
One minute, Alex will laugh, and the next he will cry. In the blink of an eye his moods change, and sometimes for seemingly no reason at all.
3. Alex is determined.
When Alex sets his mind on a task, he’s determined to figure it out. We first noticed this during tummy time. He wanted to raise his head up and keep it up. He would work, work and work, and he would get so frustrated. At first we thought it was because he didn’t like tummy time, but we soon found out he was frustrated because he couldn’t do what he wanted to do.
4. Some days he is simply tiring.
There are days when I don’t know what to do with him. He cries when I put him down. He cries when I pick him up. He cries when I try to nurse him. He cries when I walk around with him. It’s as if nothing in the world will soothe him, and it can be so damn tiring.
5. He does not like to go to sleep.
I think Alex believes that if he goes to sleep he will miss some important world event – like I might blink, or the cat might meow, or the leaves may blow in the wind. He will get so tired that he rubs his eyes and yawns big, gigantic yawns. He fights it so hard sometimes, I am amazed at his will power.
6. Alex can fill a diaper.
I’ve never imagined so much pee or poop could come out of one tiny human being.
7. Some days he takes my breath away.
I’m not sure I need to explain that one.
