I feel for you. Since I live alone, I too have a horrible habit of eating out. But I will confess…since I live just down the road from my mom and dad, a lot of my “eating out” is going to mom’s for a great homemade dinner!

I work at a high school and am just going back to work after summer…my challenge is to plan (key word) and make my lunches instead of getting take out. We shall see…

Good luck! Jeff and I have done that to help us eat better and it has worked wonderfully. We eat less food and better food! If you have a crock pot or slow cooker, that is a big help for cooking things ahead. Also we found that grilling enough chicken breast or chops or whatever for more than one meal (and not touching the second meal part!) was also a way of making it easier not to give in to the temptation to ditch cooking and go out. I really like doing that when the school year starts back.

Alex’s pictures are darling. He is beautiful and has grown so much!

I’m getting the kids thermal suits this winter. One of the swim team kids has one and its great I just don’t want them to outgrow them before winter.

My son will turn 21 next week. I remember when he finger painted with “poop” while in his crib. Now he’s headed for Vegas to celebrate his adult freedom. Enjoy this time, it goes way too fast.

icing is funny like that. It looks all weird as you add liquid a bit at a time then suddenly it is beautifully smooth buttercream.

Thanks for all the great comments. I think I wrote this mostly in the amazement that perhaps only a week had gone by since he turned one, and I had already begun to receive comments about nursing him still. I think I will start telling people I’m going to nurse him forever. Thanks Steph.

Reading your post makes me think of how I felt with my first born. He breastfed until 18m and basically weaned himself. When he was ready he gradually gave it up. My daughter is approaching her 1st birthday in July and shows no stopping soon! I have not even thought about weaning her. At 9m I noticed some people giving me looks when I breastfed in public but I shrug them off knowing that I am giving my child a loving bond and healthy nutrition that will last her a lifetime. Do what feels right with you and your child. Best of luck.
